Featured authors include Paula McLain (The Paris Wife), Tatjana Soli, (The Lotus Eaters), David Morrell (creator of Rambo), Steve Berry (Cotton Malone series) as well as local and regional authors. Amelia Community Theatre offers a Christmas Story Getaway

Amelia Island Blues Festival September 16-17, 2011


Amelia Island lovers its festivals and has added a new one and just down the beach from Elizabeth Pointe lodge. The first annual Amelia Island Blues Festival is scheduled September 16-17 at Main Beach and will include music, food, drinks and lots of activities guaranteeing family fun. Major blues artists include Willie "Big Eyes" Smith; Albert Castiglia; David Gerald Band; Roger "Hurricane" Wilson; Blistur; Conrad Oberg; 6th Street Rhythm & Blues Review and many more. The Amelia Island 2nd Annual Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off

Kick off the football season with an exciting barbeque competition at the beach on Amelia Island, Florida. The 2nd Annual Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off will be held August 26 and 27th. Just walking distance from Elizabeth Pointe Lodge, you can watch professional barbeque competition  teams sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, compete for over $20,000 in cash and prizes at Amelia Island’s Main Beach Park.The event is free. Food and beverage available inside the gate. Enjoy great entertainment including live music from local and regional bands, appearances by Jaxson de Ville, the Jacksonville Jaguars popular mascot, arts and crafts, Gator Bowl best decorated booth contest, and a volleyball tournament.
